Hello My Name Is...

Rachel Lewis

Hi!  My name is Rachel Lewis and I am the Guidance Counselor for two of the elementary schools in the Patrick County School System- Blue Ridge Elementary and Woolwine Elementary.  I have been with this school system since February 2013.  I received my undergraduate degree in Psychology at the University of North Carolina at Wilmington, and my master's degree in School Counseling at Radford University.  I love my job and being able to work with the children as well as teach guidance classes.  

In my free time I like to hang out with my husband, play with my two doggies, and visit with friends.  My favorite place to visit is the beach, or the lake, or basically anywhere where I can swim!

My number one priority at school is to make sure children are first.  I advocate for the rights of my children, and help them identify the emotions they are experiencing so that they will be able to understand how what they feel can be managed and defined.  My job is definitely a large part of who I am and I consider myself extremely blessed to work at this job in this school system!
